Meet Laura

Laura offers a virtual assistant service to neurodivergent businesses and employees. Combining work and lived experience in neurodivergence, her services are unique.

Lauras’ virtual assistant skills have been built within her roles, including; business owner, retail, social worker, support worker, bank cashier, and volunteer crisis counsellor. Her skills include; strong research skills, compiling information, organisation, support in bouncing off ideas, support in scheduling/prioritising, and inbox management.

Laura is passionate about supporting neurodivergent clients to thrive within their roles. As a late-diagnosed autistic and also diagnosed with ADHD, she wants clients to feel supported, understood, and seen.

In Laura’s own words, she tells you a little about herself below so you can get to know her.

Get to know me

Hi, I’m Laura, I live near Skipton, North Yorkshire, with my partner and cat Mimi. Everything obviously revolves around Mimi!

I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD at 34 and since then have had a big interest in this area, undertaking many months/years of research. Psychology has always been a passion of mine too. I’m continuously reflecting and learning about myself and others.

I love rock music and go to Download festival most years. I also go to as many gigs as I can. I enjoy meditating, listening to podcasts in the bath, and being in nature too. I’ve dabbled in playing electric guitar and my aim this year is to play some of my favourite rock songs in full.

I have always had a deep desire to help others and continue to come up with ideas around how to be of support within the neurodivergent community.

Key Skills & Experience

I am currently working with neurodivergent businesses and employees, from coaches and therapists to podcast hosts and a stunt person.

I help my clients with a variety of tasks from basic administrative tasks to organising their thoughts and ideas. I enjoy supporting clients to create order within a busy workload and brain!

Within my roles, I’ve used a wide range of systems and I learn quickly when discovering new systems. I’ve been told I’m empathetic, caring, and hard-working. Clients seem to like the fact that I can relate to their neurodivergent experiences and offer individual support based on my work and lived experience.

  • Laura's been working with me on a monthly retainer basis. She's been invaluable! Great communication, reliable, very pleasant to deal with, good at using her initiative when it comes to task management, prioritising and figuring things out when I'm not available. I've been able to hand over my inbox management to her, and have found her to be organised, proactive, and good at judging what to deal with herself and what to flag for me. She's also quick to learn new platforms/apps. It's so good to have someone I can trust supporting me.

  • Whatever I have asked Laura to do she has taken the initiative and done the necessary research without any fuss. I have found her to be flexible and easy to work with. She has done correspondence for me as well as organising documents via email and different platforms and has had good insight and suggestions regarding these. This has saved me a lot of time and drudgery.
