Meet Jayne
A creative who has grown two businesses to heady heights, Jayne knows only too well how difficult it can be to balance the ideas with the implementation, how hard it is to overcome a lack of confidence and self-doubt and navigate the administrative, financial, and marketing where, what’s, and how’s, with the growth (and subsequent growing pains).
With a background rooted in accountancy, marketing, product development and business growth, Jayne thrives in the supportive role much more than she ever enjoyed being Head Honcho. As part of your team, Jayne will bring calm and a 'this-is-sortoutable' attitude.
A bit of a nerd when it comes to automating workflows too. If there's a way to replicate a repeated process and it genuinely works, she's going to find it, test it, implement it and relish in freeing up your headspace, time and energy.
In Jayne’s own words, she tells you a little about herself below so you can get to know her.
Get to know me
Hello there, I'm Jayne, and I live in Cornwall with my family where I love to walk, wave-jump, and snuggle down with a good book with a toasted teacake (or two...).
I love working with entrepreneurs and creatives who have taken an idea and created something which didn't ever exist in that iteration before. There's a magic in that vision which I find motivating and inspiring. In all areas of my life, and when working, I'm solutions-focused, organised, empathetic, ideas-rich, efficient, and energetic.
My work has been in magazines, in newspapers, on the radio, on the telly, won awards and gone viral. I’ve sold over 60,000 books and grown several blogs – one of which amassed over 1 million annual users, year-on-year. What has been the common thread and always lit me up and got me up in the mornings is making a difference. I love seeing people tap into their potential and bloom from there – I cry happy tears whenever I see or watch a documentary, film, or sports event where someone gets to where they’ve been working so hard to get to. It’s inspiring to witness others pushing through limits, overcoming what they once thought was unovercomeable, daring to dream, and living life on their terms.
Key Skills & Experience
Having bootstrapped my own businesses and built them from the ground up as well as supporting SMEs with bookkeeping and business support, I've an innate understanding of the pressures and challenges faced which is quite difficult to sum up.
Over the years, I've worked with some incredible businesses. It's rewarding to take care of tasks, tighten up processes, create strategies for social media to help you reach your target audience, design blog content, write SOPs and create training videos to make onboarding easier, and automate workflows so that entrepreneurs and creatives can concentrate on the areas of business where they thrive and get the best results.
Never one to shy away from new technology, I think there's a palpable sense of achievement that comes with learning something and getting it to work as you'd hoped it would. When it comes to applications, there've been many! I'm proficient in Zapier, Flodesk, Mailchimp, Agorapulse, Hootsuite, Sked Social, Xero, Brightpay, Re:amaze, Woocommerce, Asana, Trello, and Google Workspace, to name a few.
Sinking my teeth into things you might think are a mess or awry, and making sense of it all for you is where I excel - I think that comes from taking paperwork from farmers back when I was training to be an accountant and handing it back all pristine and organised with a full set of accounts.
